How to trim a video

Choose a file or drag it onto the page, then drag the left and right handles on the timeline to set the in and out points. The selected length is shown next to the Preview button, and Preview loops just the selection so you can check the cut before exporting. Press Export MP4 when the trim is right.

Trim first, then everything else

Trimming before you crop, caption or export is also the fastest way to keep encoding quick and files small — your own device does the work, so a three-second clip finishes almost instantly while a whole 4K recording would take minutes. Cut it down first.

Questions

Does trimming re-encode the video?

Yes — the trimmed section is re-encoded to H.264/AAC MP4, with the long side capped at 1080p. That keeps quality high and export times reasonable.

Can I trim without cropping?

Yes. Leave the format on Original and only move the timeline handles — the frame is untouched, just shorter.

Is there a watermark or sign-up?

Neither. No account, no email, no watermark on the export.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The file is read from your device and processed in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
