Landscape to vertical without black bars

Padding a 16:9 video into a 9:16 canvas leaves black bars top and bottom, and every short-form feed punishes that — it reads as recycled content. Cropping instead fills the frame edge to edge. You lose the sides of the shot, which is why the crop frame is draggable: put it where the action is.

One format, three platforms

9:16 is the native shape for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok alike, so a single export covers all three. Add the caption here rather than in each app and the text stays identical everywhere.

Questions

What is the 9:16 resolution?

1080×1920 is the standard. This tool caps the long side at 1080p, so a 4K source comes out at exactly that.

Can it follow the subject automatically?

Not yet — the crop position is fixed for the whole clip and you set it by dragging. Object tracking is on the roadmap.

Does it keep the audio?

Yes, audio is re-encoded to AAC. Silent clips export fine too — the tool retries without an audio track if there is nothing to encode.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It is a web page. There is no app, no extension and no account.
