How to crop a video

Choose a file (or drag it onto the page), pick a target shape — 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9 — and drag the green frame to decide what stays in shot. The output resolution updates live so you can see exactly what you are getting. Press Export MP4 when it looks right.

Why "no upload" matters

Browser-based editors normally send your footage to a server, put it in a queue and stamp a watermark on the way back. This one decodes the video with your browser and re-encodes it with a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg in the same tab. Nothing is transmitted, so there is no queue, no account and nothing stored about you.

Does cropping re-encode the video?

Yes — cropping changes the frame, so the clip is re-encoded to H.264/AAC MP4. The long side is capped at 1080p, which keeps quality high and export times sane.

Is there a watermark?

No. There is no watermark, no account and no email step.

How big a file can I crop?

There is no fixed limit, but your own device does the encoding. Short clips finish in seconds; long 4K files take minutes and use a lot of memory. Trim before exporting.

Does it work on a phone?

It works in modern mobile browsers, but encoding is much slower and memory is tighter than on a laptop. For anything over a minute, use a desktop.
